Black Eyed Pea in Dade City

Our first meal in a new town couldn't have been better. I had their biscuits & gravy, hubby had grits & eggs. We both left well fed & happy. Service was fast & friendly.

Great staff, great portions, but I was disappointed with the food. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good either.

Fantastic breakfast. The corned beef hash. Was outstanding.

Perfect fit for the area. Pretty quick lunch visit at only around 30 minutes. Small interior, clean and well kept. Staff was super friendly and enjoyable. Prices are moderate and typical for the area and style of food. Breakfast and lunches served at this diner. Free parking. Close to nearby Pioneer Train Museum.

We had the shrimp with fries. Terrible, little shrimp with mostly breading. My husband stated worst meal he can remember having. We will not dine there again.

For good food in a neat little restaurant. Portions were way too much, but I ate all of mine!

No one can beat there bacon, mushroom cheeseburger, it is out of this world.

This is where the locals go and for good reason! Cramped dining space is made up for by down home soul food. If you are there for the Fried Chicken Special on Thursdays you will not be disappointed. I have also had the potato salad on several occasions with the BLT sandwich and it has become my go-to meal for lunch meetings. The price point is very affordable leaving your stomach and wallet equally happy!

Always have a good meal here! Great burgers and we love the homemade onion rings!! Breakfast is great also.

Best soul food in a 25 mile radius of Dade City Fresh well seasoned and delicious you can't ask for anything better. It will always be what I recommend regarding Dade City

Juanita was on point. Food was great and big portions. My husband has gone by this place several times and always wanted to try. So glad I was with him when he did. Big Daddy burger was AMAZING

Great food and atmosphere

Not a bad place. Juanita wasn't real friendly in the beginning until it came time to pay the bill and then she was alright. Burger didn't get served as ordered med rare but it was good but you don't get enough of the other items. Bathrooms are outside. Probably won't be back.

My family and I went there for all you can eat fish on Friday. We met friends from our congregation there. Service is great. A pleasant atmosphere. Good old-fashioned home cooking.

Food was great. Staff was friendly. Need to upgrade to a bigger building. Gonna need it with those satisfying breakfast and amazing Burgers.

No frills, down right darn good down home cooking!!! Home made, fresh, and friendly. Small, venerable, and busy because it is favorite of locals. Open 7 days a week but only open for dinner on Friday with an all you can eat fish fry. It needs a face lift but don't let that dissuade you from a great experience

Went for a drive just looking for new spots for food and came aross this little spot where they had soul food. My husband got the pork chops i just got a blue cheese burger to try them out. The burger was a nice size and very filling i also had a piece of the pork chop it was tasty it had a different kind of crunch not like regular flour but it was good

This is a family owned restaurant with a strong local following. The food was tasty and a plentiful portion served up. The patty melt was excellent as was the cheeseburger. The onion ring appetizer came out really burnt to the point we could not eat them, they apologized and took them off our ticket, they also offered to replace them but our meal had already been served. Our server, we believe to be the manager, did a marginal job. She never even refilled our drinks and spoke a bit disrespectful to the staff which took away from the experience. Hopefully she was just having a bad day.

This is a great place to enjoy a nice home cooked meal. It was our first time there. It was a holiday and a Monday so there were not many places open but, we did find the BEP. We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly server. She got our drinks and told us to take our time looking over the menu. She told us the specials and explained some of the dishes they had. I chose the pork chops, fried with 2 sides, okra/tomatoes and mashed potatoes/gravy. My wide also had the pork chops but she got one of each, fried and grilled with black-eyed peas and fried okra. We were with friends and one got meat loaf and one got pork chops. Everything was very delicious. The breading on the chops was was very flavorful. The meat loaf was literally a loaf of meat. It was tender and delicious. It's a real down home atmosphere and the service is the friendliest around. We will definitely go back soon.

Great homemade southern cooking. Friendly, caring staff. Their hamburgers are absolutely the best. Big, juicy and delicious. Their daily specials are creative and delectable.We especially like their breakfast. The biscuits are scrumptious. The pancakes...too good to describe, just try them.Bring your appetite. The portions are huge.

Stopped at The Black Eyed Pea on our way through Dade City. Great food and service. There were a number of locals having lunch too, showing us that it's well respected.

We've been going to this restaurant for 4 yrs specifically for their Cheese steak sub! It has one of the best sandwiches around. Highly recommend! Take my word for it. It's in the top 4 places around for this sub.

Well its a little out dated as far as restaurants go but okay , kinda cramped , waited on my food much too long and the grilled chicken wasn't really grilled, they really shouldn't advertise something that its not , with all that said however the veggies were really like homemade and I did finish the chicken with help from barbecue and ranch sauce because it was very bland. Again I'm not trying to run the business down, I try to be fair in all of my reviews .

Food and home town atmosphere is great. I love going there for any meal. They make you feel at home.

A small place with fantastic flavors and wonderful staff. Portions are huge and if you leave hungry it's your fault. Can't wait to come back to this New find and try other things. More later!

This is a great place with cooked to order homestyle meals. Breakfast is excellent, prices and service are awesome. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The specials are written on the board next to the cash register. I'm fond of their breakfast, but want to try their fish fry one day soon. You can't go wrong here!

Usually good service and food. Last time, eggs came out stone cold, pancakes over done. Left food uneaten, server never noticed, never asked any of us how the meal was. Will probably change the rating back up if I visit again, but this rating will stay until that happens.

They do not have a very good structure and the bathroom is out back, but the place is clean, attentive and friendly staff, and the burgers are truly just like you make them at home. Also had some black eyed peas (of course) and some okra with tomatoes, Delish!Will have to come back and sample some more.

One of our hometown favorites, we visit regularly on Friday nights for the best all you can eat fish dinner. I love their blackened haddock, fresh squash but the coleslaw is amazing. It has fresh pineapple infused in their recipe and gives it an amazing taste. The burgers are fab, especially the big daddy with large onion rings on top. Fast, fresh, friendly service, clean and comfortable dinning. Restrooms are out back but I don’t go for the bathrooms, I go for the food.

Enjoyed everything! Fried green tomatoes we're so good! Our server was very nice and the sweet tea was delicious along with the fried chicken. Cute atmosphere 🤗

The all you can eat fish is amazing and the grits are the best I've ever had. The coleslaw is wonderful. There's really not enough nice things to say about Friday fish. Lunches are nice too. The service is always prompt and wonderful. It's small so you might wait for a take but very work the wait.

We were there on a Friday and ordered the all you can eat fish which they had posted on a chalkboard as the special of the day., and it was on their menu (same price), but as soon as we ask for a second helping, they changed their sign, saying only one serving. I ordered fried green tomatoes, but they were cooked in the same oil with the fish, they were horrible. Use the restroom which is located out of the restaurant in the back, there was pubic hair on the sink. Which was really nasty turned my stomach. I don't think anyone has ever attended to the restroom except for to put toilet paper in there. Our experience was not very good, but we had heard great reviews from friends is why we had went.
